Contact by Carl Sagan

I couldn't do this book justice if I tried to write a review but, I enjoyed reading Contact. It is absolutely a hard-science novel and, at times, its verbose scientific prose makes for slow-going (at least for me). The plot is intricately developed and you find yourself thinking about its implications long after you've set the book down. Thank you, Carl Sagan, for sharing your ideas with us!

“Everything not forbidden by the laws of nature, he assured her - quoting a colleague down the hall - is mandatory.”
— Carl Sagan
“The chance of receiving a signal from a civilization exactly as advanced as we are should be minuscule. If they were even a little behind us, they would lack the technological capability to communicate with us at all. So the most likely signal would come from a civilization much more advanced.”
— Carl Sagan
